MEET OUR OWNER

George Baker is a seasoned basketball professional with over 24 years of experience as a player and coach.

 

Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, George played for Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, where he earned his legendary nickname, The Highlight Maker.

George began his collegiate career at DePaul University (1999–2001) before transferring to Georgetown College (2002–2004), where he earned numerous accolades, including:

• First Team All-American (1x)

• Honorable Mention All-American (2x)

• Conference Player of the Year (2x)

• All-Conference Selection (3x)

Following an outstanding college career, George played professionally across multiple countries, including Portugal, New Zealand, Colombia, Venezuela and Germany.

• Portuguese National Player of the Year

• Portuguese All-Star Game MVP

• Portuguese National Champion

• New Zealand All-League Selection

Transitioning into coaching and leadership, George has dedicated over a decade to developing players and programs.

• Director of Basketball, The Lexington School (2012–2016)

• Head Coach, Paris High School (2020–2022)

• Head Coach, Paul Laurence Dunbar High School (2024–2025)
